Where do you work?
I work at LG Development Group as the Director of Marketing. I’m in charge of our brand strategies, including branding each new project with a unique identity, website development, campaigns, events, and digital marketing.

How long have you been involved with Women Unite!?
Since its inception! I was part of the original text chain that turned into a meeting with like-minded ladies, which eventually turned into a nonprofit.

What inspired you to join?
I was feeling frustrated and helpless after the election. I knew things were headed in a bad direction, but in the weeks following, I had conversations with my sisters, all three of whom are women of color. Each of them were having anxiety attacks and in a panic over the “what if’s” of Trump’s presidency. Hearing their fears made me realize how privileged I am as a white woman and how much I take for granted. Listening to them lit the fire in me to do something. People are facing real threats and racism is spewing out of our highest office. We need to come together, stand up, and fight back.

What keeps you engaged with the organization?
I’m passionate about making this world a less shitty place. WU! is all about working towards a bigger vision, helping and protecting those in need, and I want to utilize my skills for good, in any way I can.

What’s a hobby you have?
Practicing yoga regularly is my favorite way to stay healthy and the most effective self-care strategy for managing my anxiety.

Do you have a fun or random fact about yourself that you want to share?
I’m a dog mom! I have a brindle pittie pupper, Peanut.
