Where do you work?
I’m a Partner with Lettuce Entertain You.
How long have you been involved with Women Unite!?
I was first introduced to WU! through Lettuce Entertain You’s first International Women’s Day event, Flour Power, which took place in March 2020. The event took place right before everything shut down for COVID!
What do you like most about WU!?
I love WU!’s core value of combining the varied strengths of women to advance the goals and missions of other women-led organizations. We are stronger together!
What’s an issue you care deeply about and why?
I care deeply about children’s access to opportunity—from fulfilling basic needs that they may not have readily available to creating access to emotional support, educational tools, job opportunities, and mentorship. Children and communities thrive when the youngest members are valued as future leaders.
What’s a hobby you have?
I love to travel and explore the world through food.
What gives you hope?
My son gives me endless hope.
What are 2–3 ways you’ve been getting through this pandemic?
1. FaceTiming with family and friends
2. Baking
3. Learning about early childhood language development
Fun/random fact you want to share?
I once spent a year traveling on an “around the world” plane ticket. Antarctica is the last continent on my bucket list!
What’s one of your favorite local businesses?
Too many to name just one!
1. Big City Readers is a love I developed over quarantine.
2. It recently went virtual, but I love Martha Mae in Andersonville. Jean Cate is an incredibly talented artist and curator of beautiful objects and art supplies.
3. I also love Spinning J Bakery & Soda Fountain in Humboldt Park.
