Where do you work?
I’m the Executive Director of Growing Home, Inc., a local non-profit organization that provides paid job training and food access assistance to the Englewood and surrounding communities. We’re one of Women Unite!’s partners for the 2020–21 season.

What is one thing you’ve enjoyed about your partnership with Women Unite!?
I enjoy the availability, flexibility, and openness of the WU! team. They are always available to answer questions.

What’s an issue you care deeply about?
Economic and social equity.

What’s a hobby you have?
Reading, but it’s been a long time since I sat and enjoyed a book.

What gives you hope?
What gives me hope is the fact that there are good people out there who are willing to put on a good fight to help our community.

What are 2–3 ways you’ve been getting through this pandemic?
Work has been the thing that has largely helped me get through the days of homeschooling. Work is fun for me ... most of the time.

Fun/random fact you want to share?
I am from Trinidad and Tobago where half the population is of African descent and the other half is of Indian decent. It is a nice mix to grow up around.

What’s one of your favorite local Chicago businesses?
Though I am not vegan or vegetarian, I enjoy the opportunity to have access to vegetarian and or vegan restaurants on the south side of Chicago.
