Where do you work?
I work for the FABULOUS Chicago Women in Trades (CWIT) as an Outreach Coordinator and Social Media Specialist. I travel all around the city spreading the word about CWIT and our lovely programming. I also keep up with all our social accounts, I post regularly and keep up with trends as well as analytics.

What’s one thing you’re looking forward to about your partnership with Women Unite!?
I’m looking forward to collaborating with other women and getting to learn more about other organizations.

What’s an issue (social or political issue) you care deeply about? Why?
The mental health and well-being of Black young girls is crucially important to me. Getting mental health care is stigmatized for young black girls and women and I want so desperately to help change that.

This work is hard. What’s one way you take care of yourself?
Beyonce’s new album.

What’s a hobby you have?
I love to hula hoop!

What gives you hope?
One of my favorite local non-profits—Picking Me. It’s a nonprofit dedicated to helping people with skin excoriation disorder. It’s a disorder that happens to people who suffer from OCD. I experience it as well and Picking Me has been such a light at the end of the tunnel for me.

Fun/random fact you want to share?
My grandfather, Charles Stepney was a music composer, arranger and producer in the 60s and 70s. His most notable work is for Earth Wind & Fire, Minnie Riperton, The Dells, The Emotions, Howlin Wolf, and more.

What’s one of your favorite local Chicago businesses?
Sip & Savor
