New Year, New Collabs

We’re so excited to announce an incredibly generous donation of $1,000 from IPaintMyMind (IPMM), a Chicago nonprofit that supports arts programming and provides resources for arts teachers nationwide. IPMM’s gift will fund the sliding-scale services WU! provides to the Black Arts & Culture Alliance of Chicago (BACA), whose mission is to collectively advance excellence in the Black arts and culture sector.

Evan La Ruffa, IPMM’s Founder and Executive Director, had this to share about the decision to support WU! and BACA this year.

IPMM is very excited for the opportunity to partner with Women Unite! in support of the Black Arts & Culture Alliance of Chicago. IPMM believes in the shared vision of these two organizations–the vision of a more accessible, more equal, more creative Chicago. We look forward to the impact our gift will have and the ways we can continue to advance opportunity through art.

This significant contribution reflects IPMM’s deep commitment to cultural enrichment and the vibrancy of the intersection of Chicago’s art scene & public education landscape. It will undoubtedly amplify the critical work of BACA and Black artists and creators across the city.

WU! began working with BACA in May 2023. Since launching our partnership, we’ve updated their branding and website, developed social media content, and are mapping out a comprehensive communications plan for 2024. On the impact of WU!’s work and IPMM’s financial support, Charlique Rolle, President of BACA, said:

By showing up for our community with a whole host of resources, groups like IPaintMyMind and Women Unite! help make our work possible. IPMM’s generous $1,000 donation and Women Unite!’s capacity building services are helping to create the infrastructure needed to take BACA into the future. We’re immensely grateful for their dedication to Chicago’s Black artists and the many ways their gift is helping make our dreams a reality.

Thanks to IPMM for their donation, their belief in the transformative power of art, and their willingness to put their dollars where their values are. We are incredibly energized by their support and what it means for artists across Chicago.
