Newsletter #5

Dear Friends & Supporters,

As many of you know, Women Unite! was born out of our desire to turn our anger at the 2016 election into something productive, something powerful. It’s been nearly four years, and while many things have changed, one thing hasn’t: our commitment to this city and those doing the hard work of making it a more just, compassionate place. We continue to ground ourselves in our history but at the same time, look forward to the future--the future of Women Unite!, of Chicago, of this country.

Speaking of the future, who would have predicted that we’d be hosting a virtual launch party? Although we couldn’t all be in the same space to celebrate our 2019 partners and welcome our 2020 partners--Chicago Women’s Health CenterGrowing Home, and Healing to Action--the virtual setting provided an opportunity to come together, raise a glass, and share some of the impact WU! and our partners have had this past year. We also had a chance to debut a short video about Women Unite!, Amplify. Advocate. Disrupt, where you can meet some of the incredible people we’ve worked with amidst the backdrop of a tumultuous, yet energizing, past few years.

And even with the heat index at 100 degrees and summer in full swing, it somehow feels like November is right around the corner… and we all know what that means.

Stay focused. Stay inspired. Stay vigilant.
