#WUCrewSummer is here, a time to celebrate community with some cheeky memes, good snacks, and great drinks. Whether you’re thirsty for change or just plain thirsty, we’ve got you covered. From July 19th to August 27th, businesses across Chicago will be donating a portion of their sales to support Women Unite! and the grassroots organizations we work with.
Not sure where to start? Here’s a little rundown of all the spots you and your WU! crew need to check out this summer.
Let’s start at Cindy’s Rooftop. With award winning cocktails, biodynamic wines, family-style comfort food, and iconic city views, you and your friends are bound to have a great time. To make it even sweeter, from July 19 to August 19 Cindy’s Rooftop will donate $2 from every Get Up, Stand Up cocktail they sell to Women Unite!.
All you yummy snacks won’t want to miss this yummy snack. Every single Beatrix location across Chicago is donating $1 from every butterscotch cookie sold from July 19 - July 26.
Next up is Maplewood Brewery and Distillery. They brew and distill their drinks in house and offer a menu of upscale pub food. From July 19th to August 27th, they’ll donate $1 of every canned cocktail purchased at the Lounge to Women Unite!. This includes 4-packs you can take to-go! Grab some friends and enjoy an evening spent sippin’ for systemic change.
If you like piña coladas, you’re in luck. For the duration of #WUCrewSummer, The Moonlighter is donating a portion of sales from this quintessential summer drink (and summer song) to Women Unite!. Hopefully you don’t get caught in the rain…unless, of course, that’s your thing!
Summer is when all the Boss Beaches come out. That’s why Crushed By Giants created the Boss Beach, a Hefeweizen brewed with toasted coconut and a banana forward yeast strain. $1 from every pint sold will support our work. Stop by Crushed By Giants and order yourself one of these refreshing, easy-drinking beers.
Head over to Hopewell Brewing Company, where Women Unite! held its very first fundraiser in 2016! Hopewell will donate proceeds from their Going Places IPA on July 30-31st.
We’ve partnered with Bendición Dry Bar. 20% of sales made from their Tropical Goth cocktail will be donated to Women Unite!. They’re hosting pop ups across the city all summer. Check out their website to see where they’ll be!
Caffeine, more like cafFINE…okay, that was a stretch. Damn Fine Coffee Bar is donating a portion of sales from their custom drink, a Sage & Agave Black Tea Lemonade from July 22 to August 31.
Stop by The Long Room on August 7 from 11:00 - 3:00 pm as WU! is the featured nonprofit for their Do Good Brunch series!
As we navigate this hellscape that is late-stage capitalism, we know that split happens. Luckily we’ve got the folks at Avondale Bowl in our corner. From August 21 - August 27 they’ll be donating a portion of sales from the WU! Spritz, a custom cocktail made from Bonanto Aperitivo, Chareau Aloe Liqueur, and Segura Viudas Cava.
We’ll be wrapping things up at Nodbody’s Darling on August 27 from 1:00 - 3:00 pm. Our very own Liz Jansen will be behind the bar slinging drinks for tips with all proceeds supporting Women Unite!.
We’ve made this fancy little passport you can use to track where you’ve been! Folks who visit 5 or more spots from our list will be entered for a chance to win a $50 gift card to any of the participating businesses!
